Ma'in hot spring is located several kilometers from the Dead Sea in a natural canyon. It lies 264 meters below sea level, that's why the temperature here is 10 degrees higher than in the rest of the country.
Recently, a modern health center with the five-star hotel Evason Ma'in Hot Springs & Six Senses Spa has been built here. However, the spring can be visited separately for about $15. However, the entrance fee is lowe for the locals and our driver bought us tickets at a lower price.
The main sight of this spring is a huge thermal waterfall. So this place is not only useful for health, but also beautiful. There is a cave behind the waterfall, which acts as a natural sauna for those who love high temperatures.
The water has anti-allergic therapeutic properties. Besides, it improves metabolism and is good for skin.
Getting there: The spring is located in about 25 km from the hotels at the Dead Sea and at the same distance from Madaba. Initially we had had an idea to take a bicycle from the hotel to the spring, but, fortunately, then we changed our mind and ordered a car in the hotel for about $50. Taxi from Madaba is cheaper. Public transportation doesn't go here. There is only one bus owned by JETT company. This bus goes from Amman (Abdali) on Fridays.
