Before going up to the church, check the opening hours here. The church itself is not of interest, but the park behind it is quite cozy and offer beautiful views.
And there live rabbits, many rabbits! They run freely between tourists.
From the church it is clearly visible that the city stands on high cliffs.
In some places, the cliffs are reinforced with massive concrete structures.
The use of the territory between the sea and the cliffs surprised me. These 150 meters are given for camping, which is very strange. The area is a good location for a large seaside park, promenade and restaurants.
We walked in the old city as well, found interesting streets and corners.
Stumbled upon some local carnival.
We spent the night in the excellent La Dolce Vita a Tropea hotel (booking.com), which we can recommend. Though, it has no parking, like any other hotel in the old town, you can order parking and transfer.
The biggest advantage is the excellent view terrace where breakfast is served. We even took the room right on the terrace, the doors are visible in the background.
If this hotel is expensive for you, then 10 meters away, there is a similar public lookout (N 38 40.779 E 15 53.861). The view from it is almost the same. There are several other excellent viewpoints in the city.
From above it is seen that the city has excellent beaches with clear water. We can recommend this place for a beach holiday.
Getting there: Tropea has a railway station. Parking is pain, though you can find a place on the beach and around the old town.
