Schwoebber castle

Luxurious five-star hotel, located in the castle of the 16th century. It was built by Hilmar von Münchhausen on the location of the old knightly fortress. By name, you can guess that it was the ancestor of the famous Baron Munchausen.


There is a large park around the castle with many rare plants, but it is available only to visitors of the hotel. In 1716, Tsar Peter the Great visited the castle, the park and the greenhouse.

In 2002, the castle was bought by Friedrich Popken (Friedrich Popken) and in 2004 he opened the hotel Schlosshotel Münchhausen (booking.com). Tourists can walk freely in front of the castle.
