We have already visited his other buildings, such as the Augustusburg Palace in Bruehl or the Palace in Nordkirchen, and we can say that if you hear his name, you can go to that place, it will be worthwhile.
The Clemensvert architectural ensemble consists of a dozen buildings. All of them are located in a circle, and in the center is the main pavilion. This is a hunting palace where the prince lived. We did not visit the buildings inside, but they are open to the public.
Among other buildings there is a chapel and a monastery, a Hermitage, a guest house, a kitchen and exhibition pavilions with art and ceramics. In particular, you can see the gallery of the Knights of the Teutonic Order, of which Clemens Augustus was a member.
In the eastern part of the complex there is a large park with several lakes.
The castle has a Schlosskeller restaurant, where we ordered local dishes. Especially liked the potatoes baked in foil (Gebackene Ofenkartoffel), we recommend it.
