What is this place? After Hitler came to power in 1933, Nuremberg was chosen as the future ideological capital of National Socialist movement. Starting from that year many huge constructions appeared on the area around the lake Dutzendteich. All objects are still exist.
The territory is quite large, standard walk takes about an hour. Another hour is a visit to document center.
At the entrance buy a ticket (€ 5) and take the audio guide. Document Centre can not be called a museum, but rather an archive of historical photographs and documents. It is located in the Assembly Hall, the largest building of the Nazi era. It is very similar to the Roman Colosseum.
According to the original plan of the central part of the building had to be covered with a glass roof and create a huge hall for 50,000 people.
In addition to the document center in the building is also the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.
We have to say that this place is mentally pretty hard to visit. The mood in the end will be an oppressive. The exposition is arranged in such a way that initially shows the first years of the reign of the National Socialists, the universal joy and spirit lifting. Hitler's cult reached it's peak.
However, with the growth of the territory of the empire exposure is becoming increasingly gloomy.
After the document center, we went for a walk around the grounds. There is a lake in the middle and the main part of the route lies around it.
You can find detailed description about all the objects in Wikipedia, the most interesting are the following.
