We came at Veliky Lubin to see the palace of Brunicki. There was a castle on this site since the 17th century and in the 18th century park and estate appeared. The place was owned by different owners, the last one - Adolf Brunicki was here until September 1939, actually until the beginning of the Second World War. In the early 2000s the palace was in extremely poor condition, but in 2006-2007 it was reconstructed thanks to the financial support of the Swiss Father Robert Heinz Götz. Now palace is a boarding school. But you can walk around it freely.
It is curious that in addition to the various businesses landowners Brunitski had also a resort. At the other end of the village located one of the oldest mud and spa resorts in Europe. Healing properties of hydrogen sulfide water from a local source are mentioned in 1578. People come here to treat diseases of circulatory system, movement and support, the peripheral nervous system.
In 2005 the sanatorium was reconstructed. Mainly it concerned several central buildings. Now work on the improvement in the park continues. But in general the place still looks a bit neglected.
We walked through the park, found the source of the water and drunk a little. Source is just a pipe that comes out of the ground. Water stinks less than in Truskavets, but still nasty. Don't drink a lot without consulting with your doctor.
The following map identifies the location of the palace and the source.
