Migiya is one of the most popular places in Ukraine among the rafters. During our walk we saw 7 or 8 large buses. We came here to see the beautiful scenery, this area is located in a nature reserve "Granite Steppe Pobuzhzhya" and is the best place to rest in the Mykolaiv region.
Two most scenic spots are near the start and finish of the rafting route. The first landmark is the old steam mill of Joseph Skarzhinsky, built in 1888. Later the mill was reconstructed into a small hydroelectric plant.
The second beautiful place is near the finish of the rafting route. It is easily recognized by a Tall Cliff which you can climb and which offers scenic views.
In a 5-minute walk from the cliff there is a flooded granite quarry with a fairly clean water. The lake is 40 meters deep! The water is full of radon, so don't stay in it for a long time. We swam there for just a couple of minutes.
Getting there: First you need to get Pervomaysk by train or bus, and then take a bus or a taxi to Migiya (10 km).
